Violence against women in Latin America has been classified being an epidemic in the community, sexual violence is amongst the main types of violence, plus the situation of females in the rest with the world will not be very different. According to a written report by the World Health Organization and data on the UN Women, “recent figures on the global prevalence indicate that you in three women inside world (35%) has suffered physical and/or sexual violence of the couple or sexual violence by any other companies at some point in their lives “.
In the wake with the growing wave of violence against women, protests are organized in different parts with the world, in a unsuccessful effort to avoid it, especially after cases are heard that shake people for their cruelty and sadism. And in those protests, search for countless posters with phrases of repudiation of violence and support for ladies. One of those phrases that caught my attention which I have noticed repeatedly is: “We are now living in a world where they teach women for taking care not to ever be raped, rather then teaching men NOT TO VIOLATE”… I was called to attention for a few reasons:
The first, because I saw a harsh truth because phrase, since I was created and raised inside a macho society where it can be taken as normal for guys to harass women from the street, to inform them obscenities as well as to touch them impudently; where it can be common males to beat their women since they have “rights” directly to them – in a few regions of my country, women take into consideration that their husbands possess the right to hit them, given that they are their husbands, and in addition they even get angry if somebody tries to defend them!!! It seems bull crap, but it just isn’t-, and I think that with a large extent the high rate of sexual violence against women inside my country and within the rest with the world is machismo.
The second, because I would have liked to describe to the individual that wrote that phrase that Islam does teach men to “not violate”. Moreover, before referring to your issue of girls’s behavior and dress, the Koran calls men’s care about their behavior and provide them a substantial warning: Tell the believers [oh, Muhammad!] let them look away and refrain from committing obscenities because that is purer for them. God is well informed of what they do [Quran 24:30]. Here God is telling men that they must not even take a look at women unduly, nearly that level these are required to respect women, despite the presence of their eyes! And they may be warned that God knows what they can be doing, even when no one else knows, God knows. Then, inside first place, God addresses men and commands the crooks to behave well and respect women; create addresses females and orders those to behave well and dress modestly, because Islam is fair, and teaches us that both ladies and men must fulfill our share of responsibility to produce this a better world and have a home in harmony. So Islam teaches men not to ever rape as if they are even forbidden to have a look at women unduly, they can be much more forbidden to touch them unduly.
Islam has approached the matter of good treatment of females in a detailed and detailed manner, emphasizing the special respect it deserves in each with the different stages it’s through throughout its life – when it truly is a daughter, when jane is a wife and when jane is a mother-, once we shall see below.
Respect for daughters
Before Islam was revealed, one of the Arabs was considered a misfortune the birth of your girl. While men were the cause from the pride of the parents and relatives, women were grounds for disappointment and sadness; and as a consequence, that they had the dreadful habit of burying alive the newly born girls. God categorically condemned this attitude which crimes, saying: When one of them is announced [the birth of] a girl, the affliction and anguish is reflected in her face because of what has been announced to her, she hides from the people ashamed and doubt whether he will let her live in spite of his disgrace or bury her alive. What a terrible thing they are doing! [Quran 16: 58-59]; and warns that particular day may come, the Day of Judgment,When girls are asked to be buried alive for what sin they were killed [Quran 81: 8-9]. In this way God forbade this wild practice considering it an exceptionally serious sin. But not that, but it really made the upbringing and education on the daughters good reason to win the blessings of God and have rid in the fire of Hell; said the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him): “Whoever has three daughters whom he cares for, adds with what is essential and treats all of them with mercy, Allah can make him enter Paradise with out a place of Doubts”. Then a man in the crowd asked: “What if he’s only two daughters?” The Prophet replied: “Even if he’s two daughters.”
This is just how Islam establishes the value of girls from birth and give them an area of honor by looking into making them an origin of blessing with regards to parents within this life and inside the other.
Respect towards mother
Islam commands respect and good treatment towards our parents but elevates the status in the mother above the father. It is related a man appeared ahead of the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and asked him: “O Messenger of Allah! Who is the individual who deserves my opportunity?” He replied: “Your mother.” The man asked: “Then who?” The Prophet replied: “Your mother.” The man called for the third time: “Then who?” The Prophet said: “Your mother.” And the man asked again: “And then who?” And the Prophet said: “Then your father” (Bukhari and Muslim).
Even the Prophet spoke in the respect we must have towards our aunts. A man traveled to speak with Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “O Prophet, I have committed a grave sin. Do you think I can repair it in certain way? ” He asked: “Does your mother live?” He answered no, next the Prophet asked him: “Do you might have any maternal aunt alive?” The man said yes, then your Prophet thought to him: “Be good and considerate to her” (Tirmidhi, Al-Hakim, Ibn Hibban); and that he also said: “The mother’s sister features a status a lot like that on the mother” (Bukhari).
Respect for the wife
Said the Prophet Muhammad: “The best among men could be the one who best treats his wife.”
The Koran commands: … kindly treat women in coexistence. And if something of them should displease you [be tolerant], it may be that you dislike something in which God has put a good for you [Koran 4:19].
During the very last sermon given with the Prophet Muhammad before his death, he was quoted saying: “… Treat your women well and turn into kind for many years, simply because are your companions. ”
One in the main accusations made against Islam is that it truly is a sexist religion that oppresses women, that deprives us of our rights, that people are at the mercy of all kinds of abuses by men and that people must hold silent because it is exactly what our religion requires. However, unfortunately that in Islam, respect and good treatment of ladies is not a solution, it truly is an obligation! It is usually a clear and forceful order of God, and whoever isn’t going to comply with this order are going to be incurring within an act of disobedience for which he’ll have to render your free account among God.
Once again, Islam teaches us the laws for residing in harmony and security, in order for the rights from the people are respected, in order for the strong usually do not abuse the weak and this no one is addressed with injustice. However, lots of people prefer to adhere to the path of evil, tend not to feel compassion for that suffering of others and simply want to satisfy their desires at any cost. But the day arrive when the many injustices will probably be paid and each and every criminal covers his crimes:… But know that I have prepared for those who commit injustice a fire that will surround them. When suffocated they ask to drink, they will be poured a liquid like molten metal that will burn their faces. What a terrible drink and what a horrible abode! On the other hand, those who believe and act righteously, know that I will reward all their works [Qur’an 18: 29-30].
